Easy Glazed Fruit Salad makes every meal more special. I like a side dish that’s fast, healthy, and everyone likes! This recipe is all of those things. It makes the perfect fruit salad for brunch, a family dinner, or to take to a sick friend. Plus, it makes enough for you to save some sweetness for yourself!
Easy Glazed Fruit Salad Recipe…
Easy Glazed Fruit Salad is from my favorite church cookbook and has been used by my family for years. The hardest part of this salad is opening the cans of fruit! I always buy the fruit that’s packed in fruit juice or light syrup to cut down on added sugar, but you can purchase whatever you like best. Most of the juice gets drained off anyway.
I like to add some maraschino cherry juice to Easy Glazed Fruit Salad because it adds such a pretty pink color! However, if you’d rather not add the juice, it’s perfectly fine to leave it out.
This recipe is the perfect side dish to serve for brunch with my Baked Ham and Cheese Egg Cups, for supper with my Five Minute (Crockpot) Roast Beef, or to take to a sick friend with my Chicken Poppy Seed Casserole. I find that homemade food, whenever it’s served, lets others know how much you care!
Suggestions…
You can modify Easy Glazed Fruit Salad to include whatever fruits you like best! Swap out the peaches for apricots or the mandarin oranges for mango. I would suggest leaving the crushed pineapple, though, as this is the liquid that helps to make the “sauce” with the pudding mix. If you are serving a HUGE amount of people, this recipe does double very well. Just be sure to stir the pudding mix until dissolved…it’s harder when the amount is larger. 🙂
I hope you’ll try my Easy Glazed Fruit Salad and share with your friends and family! In my opinion, sharing homemade food is the best of gifts!
Easy Glazed Fruit Salad
Notes
To make the recipe healthier, I try to purchase fruit that's been canned in 100% juice or in light syrup. If you are watching your sugars, don't add the maraschino cherry juice and use sugar-free pudding.
Ingredients
- 2--15 oz. cans fruit cocktail (packed in 100% juice or light syrup), drained
- 15 oz. can mandarin oranges, drained
- 15 oz. can peach slices, drained
- 20 oz. crushed pineapple in 100% juice, undrained
- 3.4 oz. box instant vanilla pudding (can use sugar-free)
- 3 Tablespoons maraschino cherry juice, if desired
Instructions
- Drain all fruits except crushed pineapple.
- Add fruit to large bowl. Mix in pudding mix and maraschino cherry juice, if desired. Stir well until pudding mix is dissolved.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
