These hardworking folks deserve a few thank yous at the end of the school year, and these easy homemade caramel apples are sure to make the end of the year even sweeter!
Caramel Apples: The Perfect Teacher Gift!
Caramel apples are a great teacher appreciation gift! We all know that an apple for the teacher has been a teacher appreciation gift for a long, long time! However, a caramel apple? That takes things to a whole new level! Who doesn’t love the sweetness of homemade caramel mixed with the tartness of a fresh apple?
For the caramel apples, I used this recipe. It is my favorite, works extremely well, and turns out perfectly everytime I make caramel apples! This is my go-to recipe, and it makes a HUGE amount of caramel. So grab your biggest, juiciest apples, make some caramel sauce, and get dipping! Your teachers/coaches/mentors are waiting!!!
After making the caramel apples, I let them sit for about an hour to harden. I then melted bittersweet chocolate chips and almond bark to drizzle down the sides of each apple. How I did this: I held each apple by the stick and using the baggie-with-a-snipped-corner trick, I piped the chocolate and almond bark on each side while turning the apple. It worked well and the apples looked pretty nice when I was done. 🙂
The next step was allowing the apples to harden again. I then placed each apple on a large muffin paper and slid the finished caramel apple into a clear treat baggie. After tying with a piece of jute twine and adding my homemade labels, the caramel apples were ready for gift-giving.
